The rally is organized by the top team at Adventure Riding, backed by the 40 years of experience of Renato Zocchi and Alessandro Botturi, a multiple champion in enduro and African rallies who needs no introduction. Once again, he will be responsible for designing the route and producing the highly detailed roadbook.
The mission of the ‘Dune Rally Tunisia’ is to allow enthusiasts to face the desert in complete safety by experiencing a unique and often inaccessible experience for those who do not want to measure themselves against a stopwatch and therefore in a race.
The approach is that of a Gentleman’s race, using modern and advanced navigation system with a paper or digital road book with the TerraPirata app and the navigation system for Rally classes.
For the Experience class, with a choice of a printed or digital roadbook with the “TerraPirata” app, or a GPX track, with the option of taking an easier route or being accompanied by an expert guide.
The organisation has the proven medical service and recovery vehicles for drivers and vehicles.
In Tunisia: Djerba – Douz – Djerba, from 22 to 26 February 2027 with departure and arrival in Djerba, 5 stages of which a first stage called ‘Warm-up’, short but important to get familiar with the desert and with the use of the road book and the navigation system or GPS navigator and then off for 4 days in an alternation of fast tracks, sandy tracks and the immense expanses of dunes of the Sahara desert. Departures and arrivals at 4-star hotels in Djerba and Douz, and an unforgettable night at a tented camp in the heart of the desert.
The spirit and the rules of the ‘Swank Rally di Sardegna’ will be resumed, with the opening of entries for MOTORBIKES, SSV, QUADS, CARS.
A competitive ‘Rally’ category (only for motorbikes, Cars and SSV). A tourist ‘Experience’ category for those who just want to enjoy the desert without the pressure of the race, with facilitated routes, GPS navigation and the possibility of following an expert guide.
The “Dune Rally Tunisia” will take place only if a minimum of 40 total participants is reached.
“Experience” Category (Touristic): All individuals who are members of an Italian AICS motorcycle club, in possession of a AICS 2027 “Training – no competitive”, an original medical certificate of “healthy and robust constitution” issued by the general doctor, valid for the year 2027 and a valid driving license for the registered vehicle are eligible.
Navigation with GPS navigator and GPX track mandatory or navigation with paper or electronic roadbook using the TerraPirata app + navigation system + satellite tracker mandatory.
For the “Experience” category, two routes are available:
– identical to the ‘Rally’ route
– an easier route, which can also be covered with a guide/escort provided by the organisation. The easier route can only be covered with a GPX track.
“Rally” Category (Competitive): All individuals who are members of an Italian AICS motorcycle club, in possession of an AICS 2027 “Competitive License” card, a medical certificate for COMPETITIVE/ATHLETIC sports activities is required, valid during the event period (type B1 Motorcycling or B2 cars- annexed example “Medical Certificate Competitive Sport Activity”), and a valid driving license for the registered motorcycle are eligible.
