Sardegna Gran Tour
The spirit of the event
Sardegna Gran Tour is a Sport & Tourism “Adventouring” event for motorbikes, in 4 stages, through enchanting places, amid breathtaking scenery between sea and mountains, with departure from Milan and Rome, and two types of routes to choose from.
Participants – Categories
All the members of any Motorcycle Club, duly enrolled for the current year, can take part in the event, providing they hold a valid driving licence, allowing them to ride the motorbike registered for the event.
Participants will be divided into two categories
Moto road, on/off, enduro, and vintage motorbikes (registered before 31/12/1999) and scooters, weighing over 150 kg. (minimum weight not applicable to vintage motorbikes and femal driver), compliant with the traffic laws
For the participants in the on/off category, tires also suitable for off-road riding are recommended.
On-board satellite navigation is mandatory.
The points of departure / arrival of the stages will be at Hotel on the beaches of the most famous seaside resorts of Sardinia.
The routes will be shown only by GPS tracks. A GPS or other instrument capable of reading tracks in GPX format is mandatory.
For the on / off category, short sections will be provided to be covered only with the help of way points.
Along the way there are medical assistance services and recovery of vehicles / pilot / passenger.
"On Off" route
On Off route: 30%* on paved scenic roads and 70%* on “easy” dirt tracks, also suitable for off-road riding beginners. For on off, enduro, and vintage motorbikes (registered before 31/12/1999) and scooters, weighing over 150 kg. (minimum weight not applicable to vintage motorbikes and femal driver)
*All percentages refer to the average riding time and not distance.
100% on paved roads, also suitable for riders with passenger, open to any kind of motorbike and scooter weighing over 150 kg. (minimum weight not applicable to vintage motorbikes and and femal driver).
The routes will be on scenic roads suitable for both large twin-cylinder and single-cylinder engines,
that cross the places of greatest scenic, historical and cultural interest on the island.
Saturday 18 May
1st stage Monza - Genoa at the Autodromo di Monza - 09.00 am - 11.00 Sports and technical checks - 12:00 am Departure, 1st special stage and 1st stage Monza - Genova Km. 200 approx - 7.00 pm Genoa port: boarding for Sardinia
Sunday 19th May
2nd stage Olbia - Diga del Taloro / Gusana Km 210
Monday, May 20th
3rd stage Taloro - Arbatax Km 250 / Gusana Dam 210 km
Tuesday, May 21st
Registrations are open from 1 November 2018 to 30 Mars 2019. After this date, the Organizer shall decide whether to accept any registration, depending on the number of registrations previously received and ferry and hotel availability.
The registration fee includes:
- Ferry for rider + motorbike (and/return trip: Livorno – Golfo Aranci, Olbia). Shared accommodation (2-people cabin)
- Half board* accommodation (*including breakfast and evening meal) at 4-star-hotels for 2 nights (shared room)
- 4 refreshment points halfway through the stages
- Baggage transfer service from stage departure to stage arrival (1 piece only - cm. 80 X 40 X 60 max.)
- Organizer’s RC insurance
- “Sardegna Gran Tour” official race stickers for the motorbike
- On and off road vehicle recovery service, for motorbikes which have broken down along the route (up to stage arrival)
- Medical assistance along the route and at departure/arrival of each stage
- GPS tracks for the route
- Event T-shirt
The registration fee does NOT include:
- 2 Evening meals on the ferries
